Since 2005 schools need to provide enterprise education for all Key Stage 4 (KS4) pupils as part of the Work-Related Learning (WRL) statutory requirement. Enterprise is not just about setting up your own business; it’s about helping students to develop their problem solving skills, their creativity and imagination, encouraging them to take risks and developing their financial and business understanding. - Networking opportunities with other local businesses
- Training and development for staff
- Enhanced status within the community
- Better understanding of the education system
"Understanding Finance" Workshops Whether students progress onto employment, further education, or training upon leaving school, some level of financial understanding is important. Our workshops are designed to ensure that students gain an insight into this important practical area, suporting the 'Every Child Matters' outcomes where students make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being. Financial capability is a key part of enterprise education and though elements of this are covered in our "Enterprise Challenges", this workshop allows students to further investigate and develop their personal finance skills. Students work in teams on a series of activities which cover the following areas: - ability to manage personal finances
- understanding financial services
- making informed consumer choices with regard to financial services
